Last week, our team joined changemakers from across Latin America at Impact Minds 2025 in Medellín. The energy was electric — a gathering filled with collaboration, generosity, and a shared commitment to reimagining what’s possible for the region. The cross-sector conversations offered a valuable opportunity to reflect on our role in co-designing with communities and building alliances that drive sustainable and systemic change.
We were proud to be in a room where bold ideas meet practical solutions, with our Chief Learning Officer, Carolina, representing us in conversations with social investors, entrepreneurs, and nonprofit leaders, sharing why we believe literacy must remain at the center of social transformation. These were our reflections after returning from the event:

Literacy Matters for Social Mobility
The education discussions at Impact Minds reaffirmed something we see every day in our work – literacy is the foundation of social mobility. When children learn to read, they gain access to futures filled with creativity, opportunity, and resilience. Without it, barriers multiply. That’s why we’ve designed our programs to meet learners where they are and accelerate their path forward, from training local women as educators to building scalable literacy technology.
Solutions Should be Scalable and Rooted in Community
One highlight of our conversations was sharing AnGo, our free offline app co-designed with rural educators. AnGo evaluates where a student is in their literacy journey and adapts lessons to their needs, no WiFi required. Already reaching thousands of students in Central America, AnGo demonstrates that scalable, community-driven innovation is not only possible but essential.
Learning From Medellín
Being in Medellín itself was inspiring. Once known for its challenges, the city now stands as a global example of social regeneration, showing that even the most complex contexts can be transformed. That lesson resonated with us: systemic change is never easy, but it is achievable when communities, leaders, and innovators commit to building solutions together.
At Impact Minds, we were reminded that no organization can transform education alone. But with tools like AnGo, partnerships rooted in humility and purpose, and the belief that every child deserves the chance to thrive, we can accelerate literacy and create ripple effects that last for generations.
We left Medellín inspired, and more determined than ever to keep building brighter futures through literacy.
