AnGo can help 7 million children in Central America learn to read

A free, AI-supported, offline app that supports literacy by meeting children where they are.
Four in five sixth graders in Latin America and the Caribbean struggle with basic reading skills. The COVID-19 school closures have pushed learning outcomes back over a decade, hitting children living in vulnerable areas the hardest.

It’s not just what we built—it’s how we’re building it

AnGo is an offline reading app co-designed with local teachers specifically for kids in their own communities. After eight years of training rural educators with the Teach at the Right Level method, Project Alianza joined forces with them to bring their learning activities to low-cost smart phones.

AnGo is making literacy possible

This low-tech, AI-supported app is helping teachers and students living in rural areas with limited access to technology.

Making learning to read possible by:

Built for Rural Learners

Connect twice a month to access dozens of new activities. Designed for basic phones and smart devices. Always free to use.

Supports Teachers and Parents

Bite-sized learning makes it easy for low-literacy parents to teach. Culturally relevant activities and books make it relatable. Designed to support multigrade teachers in busy schools.

Community-Driven Technology

Local educators create AI-generated content. AnGo adapts to each child’s literacy level with the Teach at the Right Level approach. Our data dashboard tracks learning and engagement in underserved areas.

I'm very excited about AnGo because it is a helpful tool for us educators and for the children we teach. Plus, it is an app that anyone, anywhere can use, and what is better than having the opportunity to learn every day?
