Project Alianza established a scholarship fund to honor the legacy of Katie Basbagill, a founding board member of Project Alianza. Katie was an accomplished human rights photojournalist who visited more than fifty countries, bringing hope and attention to marginalized communities across the globe. On a trip to Nicaragua, Katie witnessed the barriers keeping people in cycles of generational poverty and connected deeply with the first villages where we started our work. She joined the cause and helped build Alianza from the ground up.
