Project alianza + child aid

An exciting new chapter in education

We have exciting news to share! Starting in 2027, Project Alianza’s programs will merge under Child Aid, bringing together two organizations that share a core belief: every child deserves the opportunity to become a strong reader, stay in school, and build a future with greater possibility.

For communities this means...

Teachers trained in critical thinking instruction and literacy will gain access to digital tools that help them better respond to students’ learning needs.

Girls will be supported to develop their youth leadership skills and receive scholarship support as they transition into secondary school.

Local teachers and women leaders will continue driving initiatives rooted in their communities.

Expanding What's Possible

For Project Alianza, this transition places our programs within an organization with deep roots in Guatemala, experienced educators, and trusted relationships across the country. For Child Aid, it brings new tools, resources, relationships, and approaches that can strengthen existing programs and expand what is possible for the children and communities it serves.

Why now?

We have always believed that meaningful change happens through collaboration, not in isolation. And in a moment like this, when the funding landscape for global education has changed dramatically, and organizations across our sector are making difficult choices, we are making ours from a position of strength and on our own terms.

Together we are writing this next chapter with the courage to build something stronger together.

Why Child Aid?

Child Aid has deep experience in literacy, strong relationships with Guatemala’s education system, and is committed to reaching communities that are often the hardest to to serve. Our organizations share a belief in investing in local leadership. Child Aid has demonstrated a commitment to ensuring that Latina and Mayan women have meaningful roles in shaping programs, leading implementation, and influencing decisions.

Stronger together

Our teams have collaborated before, and we've seen up close how much we have in common. We have been working behind the scenes, merging our programs over the past year, and are thrilled to announce this partnership based on our shared values. Child Aid will be a strong long-term home for our programs.

To our community

Together, we can continue strengthening literacy, critical thinking skills, and helping more girls grow into strong youth leaders. Our work is not ending. It is entering a new chapter, carried forward by people and partners we trust. We are excited for what comes next and will be sharing more details over the coming months.
