Juan Castellon knows that when you’re a kid growing up in rural Nicaragua and you don’t have access to learning, having someone in your corner makes all the difference. Juan knows because he was a kid growing up in rural Nicaragua who wasn’t able to finish primary school because there wasn’t a good school around to graduate from. But Juan had someone in his corner – his aunt. She gave him land to start farming, and he slowly grew that gift into the large, successful coffee farm he now runs. So Juan Castellon decided to pay it forward and be that person in someone else’s corner. Juan donated land to build a school and partnered with Project Alianza to transform rural education. Now, all the kids who live on or near Juan’s farm have a safe, beautiful place to go every day and learn. 

Investing in the future of the community.

With help from Project Alianza, the school was able to open its doors and offer educational opportunities to students who would otherwise have been unable to attend. The school has now become a cornerstone of the community, providing students with a safe and nurturing learning environment.
