Amanda has nearly a decade of experience in the specialty coffee industry, with a focus in origins. Equipped with a Master’s in Public Health, Amanda pursued her passion for coffee growing communities, promoting women’s health in Mexico, Nicaragua and Tanzania with non-profit Grounds for Health. Prior to joining the team at Thrive Farmers International in October of 2013, she worked closely with producers sourcing and exporting micro-lot coffees in Central America. She is now Latin American Representative for Falcon Coffees and lives and works in Central America.
A native of Phoenix, currently living in Nashville, TN; Kacy Fabie is a results-oriented professional offering a versatile set of skills in business and marketing partnered with a passion for making a difference in the lives of others. With a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications and Media, Kacy has worked as a Digital Marketing Manager with Fortune 500, Company Kimberly-Clark Corp. and is currently a Digital Content Manager with Fortune 100 Company, MARS Inc.
Kacy has assist several non-profit organizations in both China and Africa as a creative consultant with marketing and promotional projects, using her diverse skills in communications, creative design, and branding. Kacy is committed to excellence, and using her knowledge and skills to help Project Alianza carry out their mission.
Blair Hartman is a master of accounting and database systems, with extensive experience working in corporate accounting. Through this work, Blair has gained a thorough understanding of accounting principles and protocols for many different positions. Blair’s love of tackling new challenges, helping people, and working with global non-profits lead him to Project Alianza. He partnered with Project Alianza to develop the accounting and budgeting procedures, working to ensure that the practices were both legally and morally copacetic, and has remained on the advising team since.
Blair received his Bachelor’s degree from IU, before moving to Indianapolis.
Rick Peyser is the Sr. Relationship Manager, Coffee & Cocoa for Lutheran World Relief, a non-profit organization that works with local partners to provide lasting solutions to poverty, injustice, and human suffering.
Prior to his current role, he led Keurig Green Mountain’s Supply Chain Community Outreach efforts for close to 27 years. Rick has served as President of the Specialty Coffee Association of America, the world’s largest coffee trade association, as a member of the Board for the Fair Trade Labeling Organizations International for 6 years, and currently serves on the Boards of Directors of Food4Farmers (a NGO he co-founded), Root Capital, The Coffee Trust, and Project Alianza. Rick co-authored “Brewing Change: Behind the Bean at Green Mountain Coffee Roasters”, and worked to convene The Coalition for Coffee Communities - coffee companies working pre-competitively to improve the quality of life for coffee farming families.
Christopher Schnyer is a data systems analyst for a small financial management firm based in Jupiter, Florida. Prior to entering finance, Mr. Schnyer had a twenty-year career in non-profit management and public policy research. He spent three years as a project manager and research associate in the health unit of the RAND Corporation, where his work focused on clinical quality and performance measurement, and five years at the Institute for Health Policy Solutions, working to expand affordable health coverage for working families in California. He also spent two years as an independent non-profit management consultant in Boston, MA. He is proud to support Project Alianza and its innovative, collaborative approach to expanding access to safe, high-quality education in coffee-producing communities. Mr. Schnyer has a Master’s Degree in Public Policy from the Goldman School at the University of California, Berkeley, and a Bachelor of Science in Linguistics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
